Dirt Bike Riding Photo Essay
This photo essay shows isolated nature underneath the Braga Bridge. I selected this place because it is where I spent most of my time on the weekends of Freshman and Sophomore year. My friends and I would ride our dirt bikes for hours straight exploring different paths and creating memories that we would never forget. I tried to capture the concept of memory and good times from the past. My friends and I still talk about stories we had every time we went down there and these pictures capture where the memories and stories took place. The pictures make the area look lonely and abandoned now that we aren't there to add to it anymore, as we've all grown up and haven't had as much time anymore. Every picture can relate to a memory that happened at that specific location. In this photo series the photos are arranged in such a way that makes it look like the viewer is taking a walk through the riding spot. The viewer enters through the path and gateway, sees all of the sights underneath the bridge, and then leaves through the gate they entered in. I unified these photos by adding a cool filter to every photo, giving each photo a blue tint. The strongest photo in this series is the seventh photo underneath the bridge. In this photo there is the use of viewpoint and a deep depth perception. I took this photo standing underneath the bridge from a higher point of land to make myself even with the height of the bridge. I also captured the full length of. the bridge into Fall River to show the square shape made in the negative space of the photo. In the editing process I adjusted the levels of the photo to reduce the reflection coming off of the water. I then used the camera rate filter to improve the clarity of it to make it a sharper image.
