Line and Shape
Describe the photos you took:
What is the distance in the shot? (How close or far away are you from your subject?)
I was fairly close to all of my objects. The closest I took the pictures from was 1 foot away and the furthest picture was 3 feet away.
What was your point of view when you took the photos? (from above, below, straight on...)
My point of view was straight on with the objects, except for picture 4. Picture 4 was taken from underneath the roof.
Are your photographs horizontal or vertical?
My photographs were vertical.
Did you consider the rule of thirds to compose your shots? In which photos? Describe.
I did not consider the rule of thirds in most of my shots. The only two shots that I used the rule of thirds were the first and sixth one. In the first one the center of the wheel is located on one point of the rule of thirds graph and in the sixth one the swan statue is located near another point.
Which one of of your photos is a dynamic composition that successfully leads the viewer’s eye through the work?
The photo that leads the viewer's eye through the work is the photo of the shed. The shed has several bold lines that lead up to the doors of the shed and there are lines that line along the outside walls.

Pattern and Texture
What was your point of view when you took the photos?
I took the photos from above and from the side. I took them from above and the side because it allows the entire object to be captured in the photo do give the viewer a better perspective.
Were your photographs horizontal or vertical?
My photographs were horizontal for the second one and last three. They are taken from the side and continue to the other edge of the photo to show how these objects are horizontal and flat in the world. My first and third photos are vertical photos because the fence continues upwards in the photo due to the shapes and patterns they have built into them.
Which image may be overexposed? (too bright) Why? Which area/areas is/are too bright?
The image of the bleachers seems to be overexposed. They are silver metal benches and the sun was hitting them, so during the editing process the photo may have come out too bright. The seats of the benches seem to be very bright compared to the rest of the photo.
Which image is underexposed? (too dark) Which area/areas is/are too dark?
The image that is underexposed is the fourth picture of the bench. In the background, the bushes are a little bit dark because you can't see many details from them.
Which image is the best example of a properly exposed photo? Explain why.
The best example of a properly exposed photo that I have is the second photo of the leaves that show the whites and blacks clearly in the different lighting of the leaves.

Power Lines & Playgrounds
Which photo best demonstrates the rule of thirds to compose the shot? Why ?
The third photo demonstrates the rule of thirds because of the grouping of tangled wires on the pole. The box where the wires connect to is the darkest, most clustered spot and it lands on one of the rule of thirds lines. This draws the viewer's eye to this part of the picture.
Which photo best demonstrates consideration of distance and/or point of view? Why?
The fourth photo demonstrates point of view because as the viewer looks at the picture, the eye travels up the pole and gives the viewer a feeling of standing under the light pole. The viewer can also get a feeling of how far away from the top you are as you look at the wood grains that makeup the pole.
Which image do you feel best showcases positive and negative shapes? How/why?
The fifth image best showcases positive and negative shapes. The trees show the positive shapes and the shapes that are being created by the crossing power lines are making the negative shapes.
Which photo is the best example of a strong composition what successfully leads the viewers eye though the work? Describe/ Explain.
The fourth photo leads the viewer's eye through the work due to the wooden grains in the light pole. They look like they travel up the pole and the eye of the viewer may follow the grains up to the power lines. The power lines then fork off in all different directions.
Which image do you feel best satisfies the assignment, or showcases what you have learned about composition this term? Why? and/or Explain.
The first image satisfies the assignment because the wires are very vivid in the picture and the black and white contrast is well-displayed in it.
Finally, which photo is the best example of a black and white photo with proper exposure? Explain
The fifth photo is the best example of black and white because the blacks are very dark and the whites are white.
